Medivest

2016

About Medivest

The students from Loughborough Grammar School developed a wearable vest that monitors heart rate variability and body temperature to predict an epileptic seizure. The vest then sends a message to both the wearer’s phone, as well as possibly a carer to warn them that they need help.

How it works

Sensors embedded in the vest monitor the wearer to detect the signs that a seizure is soon to occur. If a seizure is imminent, the Medivest will send an alert to selected smartphones.
